Queensland

Queensland birth, death and marriage information from 1829 onwards is freely available online.

Compulsory registration of births, deaths and marriages began in Queensland on 1 March 1856.

Prior to this date only incomplete records are held.

(Recent records are not accessible due to privacy restrictions. For full copies of the certificates a fee is charged.)

The State Library has copies of numerous Queensland almanacs, directories and telephone books listing residents from 1859 onwards.
