Adelaide Hospital admission records

The early Adelaide Hospital admission registers included length of time in the colony and the name of the ship on which the patient arrived.  The original registers can be viewed on the website of the State Records of South Australia.

Deaths on board emigrant ships 1849-1867

There are no official records for most of the deaths which occurred at sea during the journey to South Australia. 

In 1865 the South Australian government released a list of deaths which had occurred on board passenger ships. This was published in the South Australian Government Gazette on 25 June 1866.
