Village settlements film

The village settlements scheme was created in response to the economic depression that hit Australia after a series of major strikes in the early 1890s and the bank crash of 1893. The State Library's YouTube channel holds selected segment of a film called Murray River Quest. This segment, made by Arbor Productions in 1985, focuses on the village settlements that were set up along the Murray River.
